  • Applications for Admission- 2017-2018 School Year
    The Roanoke Valley Early College is excited to announce that we are now accepting applications for next school-year.  We will be accepting students in 9th, 10th, and 11th grades.  Students who are interested need to print out the application linked here and return those to the school.  Applications are due to the school by noon on 3/31/17 for early applications, and by 5/5/17 for late applications.

  • ACT Boot Camp for Juniors
    We are excited to announce our upcoming ACT Bootcamp for all Juniors on Feb 18th.  This day is now a make-up day for the school, and students attending this program should report directly to the high school.  Applications are available in the office, please see Ms. Webb or Ms. Ott to get one!  The ACT will be given to all 11th graders at RVEC on 2/28, so this bootcamp is really timely to make final preparations for it!
  • New Schedule
    Our new schedule will be followed on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.  That schedule will be:

    1st Period- 8:00-9:20
    2nd Period- 9:25-10:45
    3rd Period- 10:50-12:10
    Seminar 12:10-1:20
        1st Lunch- 12:10-12:40
        2nd Lunch- 12:50-1:20
    4th Period- 1:25-2:50

Leading the Way

In just the past two years RVEC has accomplished many things.  Here are just some of the accomplishments over the past two years:


1-Ranked by US News and Word Report as one of the nations best high schools.

2-Ranked number 148 in the nation (and there are 29000 high schools in America) amd number 12 in the state by NewsWeek.

3-Our test scores have increased 111% from 33.9 in 2013 to 71.4 in 2015.

4-Our Math One has increased to 79% up from 22% just 2 years ago.

5-Our 8th graders were 78% on their NC EOGs while state averages hover around 50%.

6-100% of our 75 graduats have been acceptced to. A post secondary institution.

7-Our 75 graduates have been awarded over 1.5 million dollars in scholarship and grant monies.

8-We have almost 200 students.  Just 4 years ago we had just 64 studnets.

9-Our PTA has been awarded the Blue Ribbon award each of the past two years.

10-So the only question is why havent you joined this winning team.  Spaces for the 16-17 year will be open begining in December so may sure to apply to join our winning and nationally ranked school!


2016 Top High Schools in the Country

US News and World Report compiled a list of the top schools in the country and Roanoke Valley Early College received a Bronze Medal, putting us above 18% of all high schools in the country, putting us as back to back recipients of this award (2015 & 2016)



The staff of Roanoke Valley Early College work diligently to make sure that every student has access to a fair and quality education, and we are extremely proud of our ability to offer this to all of our students.  Thank you for all of your continued support!

RVEC Makes Newsweek's Top 500 High Schools List!

The 2015 rankings completed by Newsweek have RVEC ranked number 148 out of all high schools in the nation (there are over 29000 high schools in the nation).  Also we are the 12th highest high school in the state according to the 2015 Newsweek list of high schools who defeat the odds.  We are so proud of this accomplishment!  Thank you to our hard working students, staff, and families!  More
